Brooke works with organizations and leaders who prioritize courageous storytelling to rejuvenate democracy and secure freedom and dignity for all.
Brooke’s experience sits at the intersection of media, communications, grassroots organizing, policy, and culture.
Prior to starting her consulting business, she led global communications and advocacy strategies at Open Society Foundations to fight rising authoritarianism and build vibrant, inclusive democracies that are accountable to their people. She served as a lead advisor for Open Society Justice Initiative, and collaborated on complex human rights and legal campaigns in regional and international courts on issues such as press freedom, anti-corruption, and racial and economic justice.
Previously, Brooke had the honor of working as Communications Director at WE ACT for Environmental Justice, where she co-designed grassroots climate and environmental campaigns that won tangible quality of life changes for working people in New York City. Brooke got her start in media when she achieved her childhood dream of working for PBS.
Brooke is trained as sociologist, with a focus on the intersections between climate change and capitalism. Her research has been published by NYU Press. She is active in local community organizing in New York City, and she currently serves as a board member at Seaweed City.
