Clean Air for All
Project: Policy Campaign Communications
Using policy and comms to fight for clean air and healthy homes for all
Too often, New York City renters are faced with mold and pests in their apartments, which puts people’s health at risk, especially children with asthma.
Brooke led the communications strategy for a coalition of 30 organizations and elected officials to help pass The Asthma-Free Housing Act, which requires New York City landlords to annually inspect and correct indoor allergen hazards, including mold, pests, and underlying symptoms that may cause hazardous conditions.
Through messaging strategy, earned media, spokesperson training, and creative content, Brooke worked alongside community organizers to break through the media noise and ensure that every New Yorker had access to a healthy home.
